Cycle safety

Image
Hello everyone, This week I did something called cycle safety, it is something that the council does for children my age to learn about the road rules on a bike. We got split up into groups and my Cycle coaches were called Tony and Meghan. Before our first break, we did some practice about road safety and how our bike should be riding on the road. We got our test results on our helmets and bikes. By the time we finished practicing it was our first break. After our first break, we did more practicing and learned about signals and turns. Then it was lunch. After lunch, it was time to go on the road. I was so excited! While we were biking we learned about if we were on the main road we had the power. We also learned about T intersections. We learned about the lifesaver look  My legs were very sore after. The next day we spent on the road now that was more tiring than the day before. We got to have a lie in the park, we learned about stop signs, traffic lights and we got to have a boat

Refugee day!

Hello everyone, Yesterday the Batten team and I had a Refugee day at our school. The reason why we were doing all of this donating and having a Refugee day plus having rice for lunch, was all for South Sudan. In South Sudan they have conflict and they all run away to the refugee camps because their village was getting destroyed so they run and run until they get to the Refugee camp. So what the Batten team did was make a hut out of cardboard. Everyone had all day to make it. My team and I went and started making something out the cardboard. We were too worried about how we were going to fit everyone in the hut and did not think about planning, so we failed many times but kept on going. It was morning tea and our hut was standing up before we left but then it fell over with the wind. After morning tea we came back with a plan to move our hut over to the fence and we had it in a sort of in a teepee shape. It turned out really well! In my team was Maggie, Abi, Blake, G

South Sudan life story

Hi, I am Sami and I am Amani, We are best friends we play together and we have a lot of fun after school. This is what our life is like. At the crack of dawn we meet up with our friends called Alia and Kadem and we go down to the water pump and we swing on the pump until water comes out. You might see the water when we swing on the pump drip them, swoosh the water comes rushing out of the pump. We do that until we have got enough for our families to drink. Our buckets are full and we have lots to share with our neighbors. When we get back to the tent we hop in the side and try go back to sleep, it is not very comfortable for us but it's better than nothing every family woke up to a clattering of pots. It was a new family that had just arrived, the girl had scrapes on her leg from what it looked like, sharp bushes. She looked in pain like she had been running very far. The Caritas came to help the girl with bandages. People are crowding around the family assisting them with

I did not know what Korfball was but when My class and I got to the rules I was very happy. Here is a picture of me and my class playing Korfball! The game was about good defense and if you had a good defense then the other team would be not able to shoot or find it hard to pass.
