Term 2!

Hello everyone,
As you know New Zealand is in Level 4 of lockdown. So I have been staying safe at home. I have been doing lots of walking and biking around the neighbourhood, and keeping up my fitness in any way possible!

Painting
My sister and I have also been painting. Painting has been very fun. We have painted lots of boxes and making them into 'Letterboxes'. Which has been very fun to try out. I painted a big yogurt box lids, and I also painted two boxes, one of the boxes was really thin and really long it was used to hold the lining in, and the other box used to hold bottles, it was the box I made into a letterbox. The decoration on the yogurt lids and the lining box was rainbow and on the other box, it was splashed with different colours!

Decoration
Easter has recently been too as you know. So we decorated the house Easter themed. It was very fun to decorate the house! As a family, we decorated with old stuff that was in the attic, in the attic we found lots of Easter goods! In the attic, we found a box filled with Easter decorations holding, an Easter banner that had rabbits on it, we had a special Easter tree that we hung foam bunnies and plastic eggs on! We also had a rabbit light we hung on the door and we had another Easter light we put on the window!

Croquet
One thing I have done that I have really enjoyed is playing croquet in the garden. I have found my mum and me have had very high competition in our games of Croquet, I feel as if my mum has won though. In Croquet each week I am getting better at playing. Each week my Dad switches up the croquet course so it is not the same every time we play. I have very much enjoyed croquet!

Technology
At home, I have been doing my food technology. We have been getting my food bag. I have decided to pick dinner and make it for my family every week. This is to keep up cooking and learning how to use the elements on the oven and preheat things when I make them as I usually have forgotten to preheat with my partner in food technology. I have found that cooking is really enjoyable and is also a hard task when the meal is tricky!

School
This week we started online school. Online school has actually been fun. This week has been all about settling into it. But we as a class have been following a schedule that has our weekly activities on it! Today as a class we did maths, maths was really fun as we all went into breakout rooms 4 people in it. This was very good and was very easy to communicate! In school our teachers are also giving us audios of them reading the class book, this book is called The Mapmakers Race. This book is so far is enjoyable!

  1. Awesome blog post Ruby, you have definitely been making the most of your lockdown time! Your croquet skills have dramatically improved (but I doubt you will ever be able to beat the champ). I have also been really impressed at your cooking skills and the delicious dinners you have made. Remember to proofread before posting your blog, keep up the great work. Mum x

  2. Wow Ruby, what a fantastic post. I really enjoyed reading about the cool things you have been upto while in lockdown. I'm very impressed that you are learning to do lots of new things. I bet your family appreciates you cooking for them. I also get My Food bag - some of the meals are very yummy, and lucky for my Mr C likes to cook. Good luck betting your mum in croquet (Don't tell her I said that!) Keep up the great posts.
